School Building

Academic

Our chapter has two ways of creating impact in the world we live in. We first carry out our own projects in our community

The youth represent the future of our nation and the citizens of tomorrow.

That is why we have targeted high schoolers for this project. A group of EWB representatives will visit high students to discuss a serious, ongoing social issue. The current issue is having access to clean water worldwide. To make things dynamic, the presentation is followed by an interactive workshop where students have to build a simplified water-filter while respecting specific constraints, such as budgets and instructions.

Teacher with Pupils

The goal is to raise awareness for social issues and to teach students that there are solutions they can do to solve them. EWB also uses these conferences to inspire high schoolers to look into possible career paths and opportunities, and see what roles an engineer can have in the development of societies worldwide!

Are you a teacher interested in hosting EWB Sherbrooke students for such a presentation and workshop in your classroom?
